Prince, the legendary musician who brought us countless hits, such as “Purple Rain” and “When Doves Cry,” has died. He was 57.
The singer’s publicist confirmed the tragic news to The Huffington Post on Thursday.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” the rep said in a statement. “There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.” [snip]
Earlier this week, the performer was treated for the flu after his plane made an emergency landing.In one of the tributes to Prince, we read a story about how guitar god Eric Clapton responded when asked "how does it feel to be the world's greatest guitarist?" Clapton responded, "I don't know, ask Prince."
A representative for Prince told TMZ that the singer was feeling under the weather during his shows last week and began to feel worse on the plane. After the emergency landing, he was treated at a hospital and released three hours later.
