No longer content with racist dog whistles to his white nationalist base, presumptive Rethuglican nominee and neo-fascist demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump has exchanged the whistle for a trumpet (couldn't resist). For his rally yesterday in San Jose, CA, Crooks & Liars noted that Rump used Adolf Hitler's favorite music, Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," as a prelude to arriving on stage. He then went on to demonstrate everything Hillary Clinton had said about him earlier in the day by delivering a raging, incoherent, and spittle-flecked speech that had echoes of the Nazi leader's style.
While we're certain that the musical choice was appreciated in the fever swamps of the skinhead right, it should give pause to anyone who still thinks that his campaign is just "entertaining and different."
