Weekend Unrequited Love Song

Today is multi- award- winning singer Linda Ronstadt's 70th birthday.  The Tucson, AZ, native has released 45 albums in her long career, recording and being honored in the pop, rock, jazz, country and Latino genres.  A ferocious, eclectic musical collaborator, Ronstadt's name appears on projects with many of her fellow musicians from Frank Zappa to Rosemary Clooney to Neil Young to Emmy Lou Harris -- in fact, her one- time back up band later became The Eagles. Sadly, she announced her retirement in 2011, citing Parkinson's disease as having left her unable to sing.  (Some Ronstadt family trivia:  her maternal grandfather was the inventor of the first electric stove, the grease gun, and flexible rubber  ice cube trays.)  Here's one of her first hits, 1970's melancholy "Long, Long Time."  Hope you enjoy.
