“To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’ Unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.” -- Hillary Clinton, speaking at a New York fundraiser last night, laying it on the line about some of neo-fascist sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump's deplorable supporters (e.g., the alt-right, white nationalist/ supremacist, xenophobic mouth breathers that populate his rallies).
She went on to say that the remainder of his supporters were people feeling left behind by the economy and let down by the government, who need to be understood. Her statement is already being twisted by Rump's campaign and Rethug facilitators in the media, but it's time to tackle the issue that were it not for some very deranged, violent and bigoted people in the Rethuglican / New Confederate / Stupid Party, Rump would not be their nominee.

UPDATE II: Clinton regrets saying "half" of Rump's supporters are in "basket of deplorables." She got the description right, just quibbling about the percentage.
