Republican War on Women, Cont'd.

After his epic takedown by Fux's Megyn Kelly a couple of days ago, right-wing culture warrior Newt "Poot" Gingrich -- who may be one of the most despised characters in politics -- has had to comfort himself with off-hand praise from his political master, neo-fascist bigot Donald "Rump" Trump. At the opening of his soon-to-go-bankrupt white elephant hotel in Washington, D.C., Rump laughably congratulated Poot on the "amazing interview" with Kelly (which left Poot sputtering in finger-wagging rage).

Michelle Goldberg has an interesting piece in Slate that looks at a burgeoning gender war within the Rethuglican / New Confederate / Stupid / Shooters Party that's been fueled by the nomination of misogynist groper and sexual assault braggart Rump. Goldberg notes that Kelly's confrontation of Poot was,
"...an important moment in one of the more interesting subplots in this election—the dawning realization by at least some conservative women that many of the men in their movement are not on their side."
Poot, who's been married three times and who had affairs during his first two marriages, is the face of the Rethuglican and Trumpist movement's attitude toward women: reactionary, dismissive and predatory. It's dawning of some Rethug women that, to paraphrase Pogo, we have met the enemy and they are our men.
