"Two Iowa police officers were shot and killed on Wednesday while sitting in their patrol cars in what police called unprovoked ambushes, and a 46-year-old suspect who investigators believe acted alone was captured hours later, officials said.If anyone thinks this type of white supremacist acting out will subside after November 8 when the alt-right's Trumpenführer is defeated, think again.
The suspect, Scott Michael Greene, was taken into custody in the killings in the Iowa capital Des Moines and its affluent suburb Urbandale, police said. Police said it was unclear what provoked the attacks.
Greene, who has not yet been charged, had a recent run-in with local police after waving a Confederate battle flag, a racially charged symbol, in the crowd while the national anthem was played at the start of a high school football game, Urbandale Police Chief Ross McCarty said."
UPDATE: Another sign that the alt-right is at the boiling point: a black church in Mississippi is burned by bigots who painted "Vote Trump" on it.
UPDATE II: It seems that Des Moines Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek jumped to a conclusion before the apprehension of the very white Mr. Greene. Notice the dog whistle:
“There is a clear and present danger to police officers right now,” Parizek said, visibly shaken. “We’re very well aware of the society that we’re living in right now ... and that there are some not so positive views of law enforcement that a segment of our population holds.” (our emphasis)"... a segment of the population..." We know what you mean =cough= blacks =cough=, Sergeant. We're guessing the shooter, Greene, and Sgt. Parizek might be supporting the same neo- fascist white nationalist authoritarian for President. Irony is, unfortunately, a bitch.
