As further evidence that many in the media are ready to play nice with neo- fascist sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump in enabling our post truth environment, there's this off- the- record cozy cocktail gathering at Rump's Mar-a-Lago Florida estate with members of the press pool covering him -- complete with soulless eyes (click on photo to enlarge):
"Everybody say 'cheesy.'"
Although the photo is grainy at best, several journalists can be identified by the shot: [CNN's Jeremy] Diamond, Terrance Dopp of Bloomberg News, Brian Kilmeade of Fox News, Ali Vitali and Hallie Jackson of MSNBC/NBC News, as well as Mike Allen. This is after Rump's harrowing attacks on the media, riling his knuckledraggers during the campaign, and his continuing attacks on "extremely dishonest media" after the election and during his recent "Thank You" campaign swings. This is selling your soul for "access" -- and it was probably a cash bar at that. Reminds us of those days in 2008, when the press corps bellied up to the bbq, the bar -- and tire swing -- at one of John McCain's many homes.
