Jay Farrar formed alt- rock/ country Son Volt in 1994 following the breakup of Uncle Tupelo, a band he started with Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) and Mike Heidorn. "Back Against The Wall" is a song from Son Volt's just- released album, "Notes of Blue." We can't help but notice that the lyrics mirror how many of us feel in these days of darkness:
No time to be wayward,
No time to be unwound,
With darkness at your doorstep
Keep your feet on the ground.
There will be times of injustice
Times when there's more lost than found
Downtimes mixed with days of wonder
A real live spinning merry-go-round...
What survives the long cold winter
Will be stronger, can't be undone.
