As we note in the post below, unhinged demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump melted down in a series of tweets this morning, accusing former President Obama of "wire tapping" Trump Tower prior to the election, without citing any evidence (the suspicion is that he saw a story on the white nationalist site Breitbart which passed on the tale from wingnut hate radio host Mark Levin). Here's a brief sampling of tweets responding to Rump's classic meltdown:
Important takeaway: No matter what crazy shit our, sigh, president is screaming about, there’s no evidence of a phone tap in Trump Tower.— Amanda Marcotte (@AmandaMarcotte) March 4, 2017
On the other hand,"Trump Tower" is trending but only because "once again provides no evidence to support his claim" was too long.— John Fugelsang (@JohnFugelsang) March 4, 2017
Mr. President: If there was a wiretap at Trump Tower, that means a fed judge found probable cause of crime which means you are in deep shit. https://t.co/i7dUMtHXmo— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) March 4, 2017
So basically Trump is confirming that a federal judge ruled there was enough evidence to proceed with "tapp" of Trump Tower. #oops— Omar Flores (@GohfR) March 4, 2017
No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you. https://t.co/lEVscjkzSw— Ben Rhodes (@brhodes) March 4, 2017
Trump appears to be corroborating press reports that a U.S. court approved phone taps in response to his and his campaign's ties to Russia. https://t.co/KhEzSQuIdW— Evan McMullin (@Evan_McMullin) March 4, 2017

Which is worse for Trump--that he's paranoid/crazy or that there was probable cause for a national security warrant to wiretap him?— Bruce Bartlett (@BruceBartlett) March 4, 2017
For his sheer nuttiness:
This is a particularly "Presidential" morning for Donald J. Trump— Dan Pfeiffer (@danpfeiffer) March 4, 2017
The other possibility is that Trump is flipping into an outright personality breakdown in full public view.— David Frum (@davidfrum) March 4, 2017
Look at Trump Twitter projectile-vomiting of today. and ask: Is this guy stable? Would you allow him near your kids, pets, or sharp objects?— David Rothkopf (@djrothkopf) March 4, 2017
And, as evidence that adult supervision is constantly required:
Several Trump advisers woke up this morning surprised by the president's tweets. They weren't told of his plans, a 2nd official says.— Robert Costa (@costareports) March 4, 2017
