Bannon Canned From National Security Council

Today in "Our Ongoing National Embarrassment":

President Donald Trump reorganized his National Security Council on Wednesday, removing chief strategist Stephen Bannon from a key committee and restoring the roles of top intelligence and defense officials, according to a person familiar with the decision and a notice published in the Federal Register.

We can't argue that this isn't an improvement, but as the chaos continues, the sad! attempt at a rationale for canning Bannon is at once revealing and wonderfully self- defeating:

so the pushback from the WH is that they didn't trust the guy they appointed as National Security Adviser enough to leave him unchecked?

Now, what would be the real reason Rump's trusted bilge pump would be summarily removed from his NSC position, while throwing Michael Flynn under the bus (again)? Is there another big shoe about to drop?
