We're cheered by today's announcement that Benghazi Benghazi!BENGHAZI!! bumbling villain Rep. Jason "Clouseau" Chaffetz won't be seeking re-election in 2018. Chaffetz, while central to the smearing of Secretary Clinton as Chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee both in the Benghazi hearings and over her private e-mail server, refused to investigate corrupt Putin loyalist Donald "Rump" Trump's ties with Russia and his conflicts of interest. In recent town hall meetings, Chaffetz was roundly booed over his support of repealing the Affordable Care Act, his refusal to investigate Rump's scandals, and his failure to support violence against women legislation.
While it's not likely that Dems could flip his seat in 2018, given its deep red demographics, it's good enough to see this cynical, party-before-country villain leaving government.
