House Intelligence Committee and White (Supremacist) House messenger boy Rep. Devin "No Nads" Nunes announced this morning that he is recusing himself from the investigation by his committee into collusion between the campaign of Putin loyalist and sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump and the Kremlin. Facing mounting criticism of his go-between role with Rump functionaries at the White House trying to plant false information to support Rump's allegation of "wiretapping" Trump Tower, Nunes has sidelined the investigation for the past two weeks, while defending his actions vis-a-vis the White House. Watchdog groups have filed ethics complaints against him with the Office of Congressional Ethics for that incident. Texas Rethuglican dimbulb Rep. Mike Conaway will take over as chair of the committee when the Russia-Trump investigation is on the agenda.
Nunes served on Rump's transition team, and is seen as a biased participant in the investigation, as he attempted during the hearings with FBI Director James Comey and NSA Director Mike Rogers in March to focus on plugging the "leaks" that have exposed the connections between Rump, his campaign and Moscow. The question remains whether, despite his recusal, he will continue to act as a conduit for disinformation between the committee and his handlers in the White House. Judging from how he framed his recusal decision, the answer to that question is "yes" (our emphasis):
Several leftwing activist groups have filed accusations against me with the Office of Congressional Ethics. The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power...Villain.
