"This Deal Will Make Me Look Terrible" (UPDATED)

The just- released transcripts of phone calls made between nitwit narcissist Donald "Rump" Trump and the leaders of Mexico and Australia in the weeks after Rump's inauguration are, as with every accounting of Rump's interactions with real leaders, simply mind- boggling. He's revealed once again as an ignorant, bullying moron more concerned with how he comes off than he is with the country's welfare or commitments.

Charles Pierce has some of the most jaw dropping portions here.  We highly recommend them, unless you're too depressed already by how screwed we are. Here's a snippet, though, with a brief intro by Pierce:
Shortly before the presidential election, Turnbull and President Obama concluded a deal whereby the United States would vet and then admit 1,250 refugees from the Nauru camp, and from another camp run by the Australians in Papua New Guinea. Apparently, the new president* was under a lot of pressure to cancel this deal once he was inaugurated in front of the biggest crowd ever gathered in the western hemisphere. He tried to explain this to a very aggravated Malcolm Turnbull.
Trump: Look, I do not know how you got them to sign a deal like this, but that is how they lost the election. They said I had no way to 270 and I got 306. That is why they lost the election, because of stupid deals like this. You have brokered many a stupid deal in business and I respect you, but I guarantee that you broke many a stupid deal. This is a stupid deal. This deal will make me look terrible.
If you're a really a glutton for punishment, the Washington Post has the full transcripts here. Be sure to check out where Rump begs the Mexican president not to tell the media Mexico won't pay for the wall. Sad!

One "hopes" adults in the intelligence and national security community, and in the military and Congress, would come away from reading these transcripts cringing and feeling deep shame that this clown is sitting in the Oval Office (when his large ass isn't out on one of his golf courses), and resolve to do something about it. In fact, we all need to do something about it by continuing to resist his regime, if for no other reason than his presence there makes us look terrible.

UPDATE:  There are indications that some of those adults will be ready to testify against Rump's obstruction of justice;  likewise, the Senate is moving to block Rump from firing Special Counsel Mueller and keep the Senate open for business so Rump can't make recess appointments in August.
