Trump's Creative Writing

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team is probing into the statement that lying sociopath and Putin ally Donald "Rump" Trump drafted in response to the New York Times story about the June 2016 meeting between Uday Donald, Jr and a collection of Russian operatives. Specifically, the investigators are trying to determine how much Rump actually knew about the meeting in Trump Tower and whether his intent was to hide the purpose of the meeting. The initial cover story was that the meeting was about Russian adoptions (an issue connected to Russian sanctions under the Magnitsky Act). The false story unraveled as a memo from Junior to Jared "Mr. Ivanka" Kushner and Paul Manafort described the purpose of the meeting as getting dirt from Russian intelligence on Hillary Clinton.

The deceptive statement was prepared as Rump returned from the G-20 meeting in Europe, and was described by his aides as something that Rump "weighed in on." It was later reported that Rump actually dictated the statement. According to a legal source knowledgeable of the investigation:
"Even if Trump is not charged with a crime as a result of the statement, it could be useful to Mueller's team to show Trump's conduct to a jury that may be considering other charges."
The phrase "consciousness of guilt" comes up frequently in observing Rump's actions regarding the Russia investigation. His behavior suggests that he has something to hide, because he does.
