Here Comes The Sun

On August 21, we were in awe of the solar eclipse that swept from coast to coast. The sun put on another performance last week, albeit one that wasn't predicted. Sun spots and massive solar flares erupted on the sun's surface on September 6, causing disruption in some radio and GPS signals. The flares were the largest in a decade, according to NASA.

A product of the flares is a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) of charged plasma that not only disrupt communications and power systems, but create spectacular auroras in the Earth's atmosphere.
