Vice President, and Talibangelist towel boy for bigot Donald "Rump" Trump, Mike "Dense" Pence walked out of the Indianapolis Colts / San Francisco 49ers game today after a number of players knelt during the national anthem. Like his boss, Dense is trying to portray the peaceful protests against police brutality against African-Americans and the criminal justice system as an attack on the flag and on the military:
Dense, who never served a second in the U.S. armed forces, is literally standing with someone who, after avoiding military service during the Vietnam war, disparaged the service of former prisoner of war Sen. John McCain and the Gold Star family of Army Capt. Humayun Khan. Khan was killed in combat in Iraq in 2004 and posthumously received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Dense's ugly sanctimony and hypocrisy is rampant in the fever swamps of the far-right.I stand with @POTUS Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem. pic.twitter.com/B0zP5M41MQ— Vice President Pence (@VP) October 8, 2017
After his stunt, Dense was reamed on Twitter:
Pence leaving the NFL game was a planned stunt. Sickening watching him manipulate a protest about equality to help sagging approval ratings.— Adam Best (@adamcbest) October 8, 2017
Colts fans were put through additional security delays today. Because VP Mike Pence was here. For one series.— Gregg Doyel (@GreggDoyelStar) October 8, 2017
Well shucks. Pence just wanted to watch an old fashioned nfl game and had no idea the 49ers players were gonna kneel and now it’s all ruined— Sam Stein (@samstein) October 8, 2017
Idea: What if Mike Pence cared less about kneeling athletes and more about his boss colluding with Russia to steal elections?— Bryce Tache (@brycetache) October 8, 2017
Jackass Mike Pence walks out of an NFL game, but it's too soon to talk about gun violence, or it's not the time to condemn Nazis #MAGA— I ❤ SOB NFL Players (@ShomahKhoobi) October 8, 2017
Mike Pence went to a football game, dragged security to a football game, messed up traffic, messed with fans, so he could leave on purpose.— BadgerBoo!-nan (@BadgerNoonan) October 8, 2017
The kneeling is about protesting police brutality. YOU made it about disrespecting the flag. That is how racism works.— #DonnyDaycare (@williamlegate) October 8, 2017
UPDATE: Of course, it was a premeditated stunt, "ordered" by Rump.
UPDATE II: The stunt didn't come cheap.
UPDATE III: The NFL Players Association reminds everyone that players are peacefully raising awareness "to issues that deserve attention" and should not be stifled in exercising their Constitutional rights. But, of course, that's not what Dense and Rump are trying to stir up here.
UPDATE IV: Andy Borowitz' headline -- "Poll: Americans Hope Trump Follows Pence’s Example and Leaves Early." Score!
