In Memory Of Nemtsov
The District of Columbia's City Council yesterday unanimously voted to change the name of the street in front of the Russian Embassy to honor the late Boris Nemtsov, the slain foe of Russia's autocratic thug Vladimir Putin. Nemtsov was assassinated nearly 3 years ago after calling for protests against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It's widely believed that the Putin regime was involved in the assassination plot. The "Boris Nemtsov Plaza Designation Act" was passed after its first reading, and is expected to be made official soon.
We'd love to see the looks on faces of the embassy staff when they start receiving mail addressed to them at "Boris Nemtsov Plaza, Washington, D.C."
