Some reactions to the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots and their Trump- loving owner/ head coach/ quarterback:

Hmmm... I guess a team full of social activists can focus on 🏈 while also helping those in the community. Maybe more teams should embrace and encourage their players' pursuits outside of football. The #Eagles success proves the "distraction" narrative is a myth..— Bucky Brooks (@BuckyBrooks) February 5, 2018
Donald Trump can go ahead and skip that congratulatory tweet he was going to send his good friends Belichick, Brady and Kraft.— Adam Best (@adamcbest) February 5, 2018
That's what Brady gets for supporting Trump...— Matthew Trivett. (@Sadokist) February 5, 2018

Congratulations to the Eagles for their first Super Bowl win ever.
BONUS: At least three Eagles have already said they wouldn't be going to the White (Supremacist) House for any ceremony, including good guy Chris Long who, when asked about making the trip, said, "Are you kidding me?"

Not a football fan, but a contrarian: if Trump's for it, I'm against it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the Eagles won. And if Trump invites the team to the White House, I hope they decline.
donnah - Right. I have no particular ax to grind with the team or their fans, except the aforementioned owner, coach and Brady. Nice that the Eagles got the Super Bowl win at last. Eagles DE Chris Long is one of my favorite NFL players - he donated his entire salary this year to helping his community. (Full disclosure: We're Green Bay Packers fans.)
ReplyDeleteIt does my heart good to see the Evil Empire finally lose. And did you notice, although no one is writing about it, Brady's rush to the tunnel at the end of the game instead of shaking hands with Foles? What a graceless loser.
ReplyDeleteFull disclosure: I'm a Raiders fan.
