TBogg is a great writer and had a significant blog for a long time. I know he posts still at Raw Story sometimes, but he may be away, writing a novel. I always enjoyed his intelligent, thought-provoking commentaries and this one about the NRA spelled out what happened to the NRA and explained how many, if not most NRA members now hate what their organization has become.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading about the dropoff in gun sales, as people consider the Republican majority a safe bet for untouched or relaxed gun laws. The Democrats and disenfranchised Republicans need to be writing bills and amendments that they can have in place, if they haven't already. The Republicans always plan years in advance for their legislation, and the Dems need to be doing the same. If we take majorities in November, we need to be ready to pounce.
donnah -- We've followed his great work for a long time, too. Agree that Dems and persuadable Repubs need to look at the array of policies on gun safety, from mental health measures, closing the gun show loophole, to limits on magazines, to reviving the ban on assault rifles. We need to have a plan and execute it if and when we take Congress back.
