The Bill For Trump's Recklessness

Last week, demagogue and wannabe autocrat Donald "Rump" Trump breezily promised that U.S. forces would be leaving Syria "very soon", something that was music to the ears of butchering despot Bashar al Assad and his main supporter, Rump's friend and patron, Russian thug Vladimir Putin.  The offhand announcement apparently caught the Pentagon by surprise, as they argued later with the unstable toddler President to reconsider

Having heard Rump's withdrawal promise, it appears that Assad and Putin decided to accelerate the decimation of forces opposing the Syrian despot. The horrific chemical attacks last Saturday night in Douma may have killed as many as 100 men, women and children in the enclave that was formerly held by rebel forces. Some 500 civilians were being treated as of this morning. It's no coincidence that Assad and Putin decided Rump was in too weak a position to challenge what appears to be their final push to subdue any remaining democratic forces. Subsequent to the attack, Rump's made some chest-thumping promises of "a big price to pay" but it seems at this point, with Moscow's backing, Assad may not respond to anything except a direct military strike on him and his associates. In the meantime, Rump's reckless and impromptu statements have come home to roost in Douma, Syria, at the doorsteps of dozens of grieving families.

BONUS:  Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) weighed in on Rump's reckless talk:
“President Trump last week signaled to the world that the United States would prematurely withdraw from Syria. Bashar Assad and his Russian and Iranian backers have heard him, and emboldened by American inaction, Assad has reportedly launched another chemical attack against innocent men, women and children, this time in Douma."

Let's see if Trump uses his new tool, John Bolton, to score a hit.
