The Two Koreas Meet

Yesterday's historic meeting between North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-In on the border between the two nations was cause for cautious optimism that talks would lead to a lessening of tensions and eventual denuclearization of the peninsula. There were the dramatic photos of Kim stepping across the cement sill that separates the two countries and of the two leaders embracing after signing an agreement, which was noteworthy in the pledge to work toward a formal end to the Korean War.

Much of the credit for the breakthrough meeting has to go to Moon, who as an election pledge, promised to improve relations with North Korea. Also, Chinese President Xi appears to have convinced Kim that further nuclear and missile tests would endanger his regime and any economic progress. China is North Korea's essential ally, providing the vast majority of goods to the North. On the outside looking in is sociopath and demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump, fresh off his deranged performance yesterday on Fox and Friends. But he wasted no time in elbowing his way into the picture in his breathless tweet (at 6:55 a.m. no less):

Get some sleep Executive Time,  President Spanky. And please do another interview soon on Fox and Friends.
