Trump Scandals Rattle Right-Wing "Christians"

The political partisans who pose as "Christian evangelicals" are apparently getting concerned about their soiled shepherd, narcissistic sociopath and habitual liar Donald "Rump" Trump. While Rump has delivered on some of their political, culture wars agenda, the Elmer Gantrys of the right are seeing some of their flock peel away over Rump's serial, adulterous affairs, most prominently with porn star Stormy Daniels. NPR is reporting that some of Rump's evangelical allies want to meet with him in June at, of course, the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.:

"'We're very concerned' about the allegations, said a leader of a faith-based ministry. The leader is involved in hosting the gathering, which organizers are aiming to take place June 19 at Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. The source said the combination of the Stormy Daniels sex-scandal allegations and Trump's continued reputation for divisive rhetoric could suppress evangelical turnout in the November 2018 elections.

'It is a concern of ours that 2018 could be very detrimental to some of the other issues that we hold dear,' like religious liberty and restricting abortion rights, the source noted. The source, like the others with knowledge of the event, spoke to NPR on the condition of anonymity so as to not jeopardize the meeting." (emphasis added)

These profound hypocrites aren't concerned about the moral decay and spiritual vacuum that their leader Rump embodies. They're only concerned with how his scandals will play in the 2018 elections among the rubes that they've been fleecing for decades and how it will effect the culture war they've profited from. Their fear is that they've hitched their traveling tent show to his wagon, and that if his wagon ends up in the political ditch in 2018 and beyond, they're stuck there with him. Let's hope so.
