Pic Of The Week: The Shame

Last Tuesday, photographer John Moore captured this iconic, and now viral, image of a 2 year-old Honduran child and her mother who was seeking asylum being detained near McAllen, TX by border police. With their inhumane evil as motivation, the administration of bigot and pathological liar Donald "Rump" Trump, in the person of Confederate States Attorney General and evil elf Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, have established what they call a "zero tolerance" policy toward immigrants seeking asylum by seperating children and even infants from their parents who have presented themselves to customs officials at ports of entry. As of yesterday, some 1,995 children have found themselves torn from their parents and sent to what are virtual internment camps, unable to contact their parent(s).

The habitually dishonest and despicable Rump lied to a gathering of media on Friday morning, saying that the policy of separating children from their parents was the result of Democratic laws, a complete and vile lie. What made it more obvious is Sessions' defense of the policy, even to the point of citing a Biblical passage about law and government (which was used during slavery to justify it). In the meantime, this obscenity is being done in our country's name by a sociopathic monster. Call your House member (especially if they're Rethuglican) and your Senator (ditto) and raise major hell about this abomination, and if they lie about who's to blame, feel free to let loose with some highly colorful language.

Our country is rapidly losing its humanity because of the policies and actions of the Republicans and Trump. Those of us who are appalled by the inhumane treatment of these families see it as a crime, a despicable one.

But let me remind you, the racists are fine with it. It's not hard to imagine them saying things about those illegals shouldn't come here, this will teach them a lesson, and they're all animals anyway. Someone even commented that those boys in the facility that is a converted Walmart should be grateful for the free food and beds they're getting. It's better than what they had back home.

How do you change the twisted thinking of people like that? They're the ones who should be in camps, not the kids. They hate anyone who isn't just like them. And they're actually the worst of all of us.

Just remember, these are the same people who think the slaughter of little kids and young adults in classrooms is an acceptable way of life.

Anon. -- The racist Rethugs / Trump Cult that are involved in this abomination are guilty of human rights abuses, at a minimum. From one issue to another -- health care, gun control, immigration -- they deliberately choose the most inhumane, greedy, racist approach because it's in their DNA.
