Censorship Update

After weeks of uncertainty, the smarmy Trump- loving editor and publisher of the Pittsburgh Post- Gazette finally pulled the trigger on award- winning cartoonist Rob Rogers, whom we've featured here often:

“The Post-Gazette’s leadership has veered away from core journalistic values that embrace diverse opinions and public discourse on important issues,” Rogers said in a statement Thursday. “I fear that today’s unjustified firing of a dissenting voice on the editorial pages will only serve to diminish an opinion section that was once one of America’s best.”

These hacks, who unfortunately have the power to make such profoundly un- American decisions about what content their readers see, are part and parcel of the on- going effort by the authoritarian far- right to cosset their corrupt and profoundly un- American Very Stable Genius. Post- Gazette readers and advertisers should "vote" with their wallets and send these creeps a message.  It would also be nice to hear some actions coming from the rank and file in the newsroom, as they have in the past.

In the meantime, we know Rogers will land on his feet, and we will continue to feature him.
