After U.S. Ally Attacked, Trump Seeks Putin's Favor

As Putin puppet and demagogue Donald "Rump" Trump prepares to meet with his supervisor in Helsinki on July 16, the United Kingdom is demanding answers from Russia after an additional two people have become ill from a Russian-developed nerve agent.
"The two Britons, a 44-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, were critically ill after an apparently chance encounter with the poison near the site of the March attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Britain has accused Russia of poisoning the Skripals with Novichok - a nerve agent developed by the Soviet military during the Cold War - in what is the first known offensive use of such a chemical weapon on European soil since World War Two."
The British are worried that the March 4 attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter has had collateral damage to other people in Salisbury, England. As expected, the Kremlin has denied responsibility for the attack, despite the clear connection to the Russian nerve agent.

It's expected that Rump will deferentially listen to Russian thug Vladimir Putin, who will push for the lifting of sanctions, re-admission to the G7, and recognition of Crimea as part of Russia. The best case scenario is that Rump will come out of the meeting with a grinning photo-op and new assurances from Putin that Russia didn't meddle in the 2016 elections. We can only imagine the worst case, where major concessions are made to Russia by Rump, who knows what he owes to Moscow. The UK will be watching their undependable "ally" closely, while not expecting any loyalty.

Trump and his cadre of traitorous Republican Senators had an agenda and it's probably mostly about money. Trump will ease sanctions and deny any Russian involvement in our elections, while he sets up deals to build Trump Towers. He also gets to thumb his nose at Obama and Hillary for not making deals with Putin, and the Republican Senators also get that “score” on their records, too.

The big winner is Putin, of course. He gets sanctions pulled back, he gets discreet permission to continue his disruption of our democracy and economy. He gets Trump re-elected illegally. He gets his personal satisfaction of ruining our country while having a world leader kiss his ass.

And our media seems oblivious. Seeing this country bowing to the whims of Russia should be front page news. Or are they simply waiting for a photo op of Trump kneeling in front of Putin?

donnah -- So well put. This is a shameful period in our history, one in which our "leader" is actively undermining our democracy and comforting our adversaries. It's certain that Russian money -- likely laundered -- tied up in his business is what has Trump kissing Putin's ass. That his fellow Rethuglicans won't do anything about it will go down as an historic betrayal of this country.
