Call The Waaah-bulance For Alan Dershowitz

Actions have consequences, even for celebrity professors used to being treated like aristocracy. Friend and reader P.E.C. pointed us to a story about Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz  being shunned by friends on Martha's Vineyard recently after many months of his defense of neo-fascist scofflaw Donald "Rump" Trump. Dershowitz, a frequent guest on the Fux Channel, complained about the shunning in a petulant "editorial" last week in The Hill, where he attacked Rep. Maxine Waters and other Rump resisters for their in-your-face approach to Rump appointees.

What irks Dershowitz is people who once thought of him as a somewhat eccentric, left-of-center professor are now seeing him increasingly as a Trumpist apologist. He's argued against a Special Prosecutor for Rump, even in the face of mounting evidence of his consciousness of guilt and obstruction of a lawful investigation into Russian meddling in the elections. In one trip to Washington, Dershowitz even had a private dinner with Rump at the White (Supremacist) House.

We don't have the slightest sympathy for Dershowitz, who wants to curry favor with the vile Rump cult while expecting that his progressive friends at home would give him a pass. That's the attitude of an entitled, arrogant jerk, which will make him fit right in with his new friends in Washington.

donnah - just as Dersh is free to associate with Rump, people are free to disassociate with him =sad trombone=.
