Mid-Week Entr'acte Song

The award-winning, New York based Solera Quartet has been gathering accolades for their superb interpretation of classical music from Beethoven and Mendelssohn to Caroline Shaw. They are the String Quartet in Residence at the University of Notre Dame, and winners of the 2017 Pro Musicis International Award, the first American chamber quartet so honored. They have a lot of heart, too: in addition to their full touring schedule, they created their own prison outreach program, providing inspiring chamber music concerts to inmates across the country. Here's their performance of Caroline Shaw's "Entr'acte", as recommended by dear friend and reader P.E.C.

They will be having their Carnegie Hall debut this fall. And I have to say, although the violin is not my favorite instrument (I really love the cello) this concert the other night produced some of the sweetest violin sounds I had ever heard. I count ourselves very lucky to have such talent brought to Chappy. P.E.C.
