What Was Discussed In Those Two Hours?

Monday's private, two-hour tête-à-tête between Russian thug and autocrat Vladimir Putin and his American asset, submissive sociopath Donald "Rump" Trump has raised serious national security questions about what exactly Rump promised to Putin in private. From an interview with Russian state TV shortly after the meeting, Putin claimed that he and Rump had discussed "a very interesting offer" concerning Ukraine, where Russian forces occupy the eastern region of Donbass, and ways of getting around the impact of sanctions imposed on Russia after its illegal annexation of Crimea and invasion of Ukraine. There was also a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry that military agreements were reached "in the sphere of international security." Rump has yet to reveal in detail what they discussed in private for two hours, significantly letting Putin control the message. We can only dread what promises Rump made and what he is giving up in exchange. Putin knows.

Dem Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) is calling for the American translator present at the meeting to testify before the Senate as to what was discussed. Although that's a step in the right direction, translators are so "in the moment" translating that the specifics of what was discussed may get lost in the effort. No doubt also the White House will claim executive privilege to prevent her from revealing any information. We can, however, be sure that the Russians have a recording of Rump's treasonous dialogue, which they may reveal at a time and place of their choosing.
