Don't Forget Pious Fraud Jeff Flake's Role In Kavanaugh Confirmation

As we will vividly and long remember Maine Sen. Susan Collins' (R- Coverup) infamy, we must never forget the primary villain in the sham fig leaf "investigation" designed to not uncover corroborating evidence from victims of serial sexual abuser and blackout drunk Brett "KavaNut" Kavanaugh:  the soon- retiring Faux Hamlet of the Senate, the pious fraud (and aptly named) Sen. Jeff Flake (R- Hypocrite).  Alec MacGillis reminds us of another instance (out of many) where Flake postured as a thoughtful, sensitive guy before falling into line with the rest of his simian brethren:

You can also add Flake's flip flop on the Republican wealthfare tax cut for corporations and the 1 percent and his flip flop on immigration reform to the list of issues he's wrung his hands over before proceeding to cast votes that ran counter to his professed "concerns."  We can't say it enough: he's a fraud and a phony.

It's unfortunate Delaware Democratic Sen. Chris Coons got suckered into giving cover to Flake's call for a "supplemental" FBI investigation.  He counted on a good faith understanding with his "friend" Flake that more witnesses would be interviewed, when in fact none of that would happen (undoubtedly with Flake's knowledge and agreement).  Flake and his fellow weasels willfully stole a Supreme Court seat from President Obama;  Coons should have known better -- there's no honor among thieves.

  1. I hope that when Flake and Collins try to run for office in a few years that Democrats remember, and they run them out on a rail. I don't know what McConnell promised them, but they were both more than willing to sell their shabby souls for something.

Today I'm just profoundly sad. I'm not giving up; I'll fight these bastards to the bitter end, but sometimes when they stampede their way across democracy and leave so much damage in their wake, I feel like our chances to recover are smaller and smaller.

Let's hope the Midterms are still relevant.

  2. donnah - Flake is retiring but some think he wants to run for President someday (lol); it's been rumored one of the craven reasons Collins voted the way she did is that she's looking to retire in 2020 rather than face a well- funded Democrat in trending blue Maine, opting to sign up for a corporate board or three. Every Senator who voted for KavaNut should be shunned by decent people (a.k.a., not Republicans).
