Mud Wrestling

Neo-fascist demagogue and Saudi PR man Donald "Rump" Trump was in Montana last night campaigning for himself, and only tangentially for the Rethuglican candidate for Senate, Greg "Assault and Battery" Gianforte, who is facing Dem Sen. Jon Tester in 19 days. Spending most of the time talking about himself, Rump shifted briefly to Gianforte, who infamously assaulted a reporter in 2016 while running for Congress. Here's Rump's comments, which has to be taken in the context of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of Rump's sinister autocratic pals in Saudi Arabia:
“Greg is smart, and by the way, never wrestle him,” Trump said, to laughter from the crowd. “Any guy that can do a body slam, he's my kind of,” he added. The president then mimicked a wrestling move, said, “He’s my guy,” and applauded in Gianforte’s direction as his audience cheered.

Trump went on to describe how, while in Rome for a state visit, he “heard that [Gianforte] body slammed a reporter” -- as he said this, Trump pointed at the journalists covering his speech, while the crowd roared." (our emphasis)
Gianforte was convicted of assault and sentenced to community service and anger management training, and suspended six-months in the cooler.

Rump, a physical coward as most bullies are, continues to taunt the press and threaten media members that are covering his Nuremberg political rallies. Journalists in Annapolis, MD were shot earlier this year by someone with a grudge against the press, and Khashoggi's death is just the latest reminder of the vile storm Rump's reckless language has unleashed against them.

BONUSThe British Prime Minister's office condemned Rump's remarks praising the assault on The Guardian's Ben Jacobs by Gianforte.  So much winning!
