Senators: No Doubt Mohammed Bone Saw Guilty

After being briefed earlier today by CIA Director Gina Haspel, Rethuglican and Dem leaders were uniform in their conclusion that Saudi thug Crown Prince Mohammed (Bone Saw) bin Salman (MBS) was indeed directly responsible for the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi this past October in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Retiring chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Sen. Bob Corker and incoming Senate Judiciary Committee chair Sen. Lindsey "Huckleberry" Graham were blunt in their opinions:
"Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker said he believes if the crown prince were put on trial, a jury would find him guilty in “about 30 minutes.”

Tuesday’s briefing comes as the Senate weighs punishing the longtime Middle East ally over the killing. President Donald Trump has equivocated over who is to blame. Frustrated with the administration’s response, senators voted last week to move forward on a resolution curtailing U.S. backing for the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said there is “zero chance” the crown prince wasn’t involved in Khashoggi’s death."
(our emphasis)
What remains is for Rethuglican Senators to put on their big boy pants and vote painful sanctions on MBS and his associates, and end U.S. support of Saudi Arabia's vicious war in Yemen -- if  Trump's Majority Leader McConnell would let them bring it to the floor (don't hold your breath!). Even so they'll need two-thirds of the Senate to override an expected veto from a deeply conflicted and corrupt collaborator Donald "Rump" Trump, who along with his family, has many millions of dollars of Saudi money sunk in their condos, properties, and untold scams. Earlier this year, Bone Saw bragged that he had Rump son-in-law Jared "Mr. Ivanka Trump" Kushner "in his pocket."  With Rump in there too, it must be a tight squeeze.

  1. With the loss of the House to Democrats, it seems like the Senators are feeling more pressure. As they see former strongholds in red states fall, they sense the change in power and they seem to get that they had better step up. Mitch McConnell is not going to do the right thing because he's a loathsome pig, but with enough clamor from fellow Senators, Democrats and Republicans alike, that fat fuck is going to have to fold at some point.

This murder was never a mystery. No one doubted that MBS was responsible. The Senators have to insist that this leads to actions against the Saudi leadership and they have to agree to come together in that stance.
