The Senate votes today on a Republican bill (with full funding for Trump's wall) and a Democratic bill (opening government with no wall money). Here's what you can do to press your Senators to vote for the Democratic bill:

When you call, make sure the staffer verifies you are resident of the senator's state. Ask for the staffer's name and request a written response on the senator's position - this forces the staffer to actually record your message. There are no limits to the depths the Republican-Trumpists will sink to maintain chaos and win their Wall. Everyone knows that the Wall won't work and it's now just a stubborn vanity sticking point. McConnell needs to come out of hiding and actually make this nonsense stop. He's surely milked as much power and money from this as he possibly can, so it's past due.
I've been emailing my Senators and I hope they're paying attention. Polls now express the dissatisfaction of voters from both parties, and Trump's numbers are sliding down. He's conceded the State of the Union speech, so now that he's gotten a taste of defeat at the hand of Nancy Pelosi, “I call her ‘Nancy’”, so it should be easier for him to back away from the Wall.
I was elated when Democrats took back the House. But now that they're in place and fired up, I'm even more elated. Anyone who doubted Nancy Pelosi should be doing mea culpas every day. She's amazing and she's the one who will make real change possible.
So yeah, it's tough because the Trump side will fight dirty, but we can now fight back. We have to.
