As if dealing with a child throwing a tantrum, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi once again told Russian asset and bigot Donald "Rump" Trump that there will be no money for a wall in the House-Senate negotiations regarding border security:

Rump is now back to calling his vanity, manhood project a wall -- which Mexico was supposed to pay for -- after apparently being chastised by the extreme right for waffling on "barriers," "fencing," "steel slats," etc. While his Rethuglican enablers in the Senate outnumber the "dissidents," there seems to be little appetite among them for another Rump Government shutdown that tanked theirs and Rump's approval numbers. As for an "emergency" on the southern border, the intelligence community begs to differ, so his threat to declare a "national emergency" is hollow and foolish, much like its promoter.

Trump just now said in a White House interview that if there's no provision for an actual Wall on the Feb 15th deadline that they are just wasting their time and he'll refuse to deal with them. I guess this is his set-up for his emergency declaration for border security, which woukd coincide with his recent squawking about another Caravan nearing the US. He's as transparent as his imaginary steel wall slats.
He's lost whatever was left of his mind. He's making stubborn threats for something that is unneccessary and not shown to be effective in any circumstances. He is backed by brainless bigots who will wave their MAGA hats until they die of stupidity. It's frustrating and infuriating!
I hope the Democrats back Nancy Pelosi, full stop. Folding now gives Trump the incentive to use shutdowns again and again. He's a spoiled child who needs to be set in time out until he stops this behavior,

Just a guess, of course, but I'm betting there will be some nominal amount of funding for fencing repairs, some small extensions where needed and similar. Nothing even vaguely approaching $5.7 billion, a figure he seems to have pulled out of his copious arse, in any event. If he still says "no" then let him try his non-national emergency declaration and watch it get tied up in the courts instantaneously.
I agree with Donnah, distract, distract, distract. That and "hey pay attention to me, not that coffee king".
Jimbo -- That's a good guess. He's going to lose this fight, like he lost his shutdown. In the meantime, it's a distraction from the mess he's in.
