QOTD

Incoming Sen. Willard "Millionaire Mitt" Romney (R- UT), the Senate's next Jeff Flake:
To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow “our better angels.” A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect. As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit. With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.
Romney goes on to confirm that he'll gladly vote for every reactionary, plutocratic policy the Republican Party can cough up.  His "better angels" aren't inspiring him to do otherwise when it really matters, of course.

BONUS:  The twitterverse wasn't having Millionaire Mitt's "character" critique.

BONUS II:  Steve M. at No More Mister Nice Blog has a good critique of Millionaire Mitt's op ed here.

Romney, “RMoney” is a quivering bowl of vanilla pudding. He is as useless as any one human being can be, and his pathetic loyalty to the Republican party and to Trump is as transparent as tissue paper. He may pretend to criticize the bloated windbag, but he'll trot right alongside him wherever he goes.

And Trump loves to embarrass his yes-men, so Romney better put his big boy pants on.

donnah - that's right. He's the quintessential empty suit who goes whichever way the wind blows (see is disavowal of Romneycare). He still thinks he's entitled to be president some day.
