Co-President and the Fux channel's premier propagandist for the White (Supremacist) House Sean "Heil" Hannity seems to think the role of the Justice Department mirrors that of his long-gone Gestapo model: use the tools of Government to attack your enemies. He's been using his platform to renew calls for the "investigation" of "deep state actors" -- Fux-ese for law enforcement / intelligence community / Dem politicians -- by the new Attorney General William Barr. According to Media Matters:
"On Thursday night, just hours after the Senate confirmed Barr, Hannity crowed,“My sources telling me tonight things are happening as we speak.” The Fox host went on to detail numerous purported crimes he said had been committed by 10 “deep state actors,” including former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
“Over the next year with a brand new attorney general, William Barr, this country -- we’ve got to decide,” Hannity concluded. “You want to save the United States? You want to be a constitutional republic? You want equal justice under the law? Do you want a dual justice system, or do you want America to be handed off to your kids and grandkids as a banana republic?”That's the best example of projection in the psychological sense that you'll ever find.
Punishing your political enemies and attempting to crush opposition using state resources is the essence of a "banana republic." So is having a media company spouting Government propaganda, and installing your family members in senior policy positions in the Government. So is attacking democratic institutions like the judiciary and Constitutional checks and balances, especially in service to your own corruption and dealings with hostile foreign powers. "You want to save the United States?" Hannity asks. A good start would be to turn him off.
