Jazz legend Thelonious Monk (whose middle name was Sphere -- très cool) died on February 17, 1982 at the young age of 64. The second most recorded jazz composer other than Duke Ellington, Monk was known for his often dissonant piano improvisations. There's not much dissonance in his recording of another composer's 1932 classic (by Vernon Duke), "April in Paris." Hope you enjoy.
