Mid-Week Stoller Song

The songwriting team of Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller is legendary, having written more than 70 charting hits, and what hits they were: Hound Dog, On Broadway, Kansas City, Jailhouse Rock, Poison Ivy, There Goes My Baby, and so many more. Lyricist Jerry Lieber passed away in 2011, but today composer Mike Stoller turns 86. Here's his 1961 hit "Stand By Me", sung by co-composer, the great Ben E. King, with some great nostalgic video.

Guys, thank you!! Again, you hit a home run for me. The early 60's. MY time. I loved The Drifters, Platters, Little Antony & the Imperials. These were BB (Before Beatles) HA! I still love hearing them. I feel sorry for those who didn't live these times. A record player & 45's !!
