We noted yesterday that Trump's attorney and redacting robot William "Low"Barr declined to answer a question posed by a House Appropriations subcommittee member whether he'd discussed the Mueller investigation report with Putin pal and unhinged demagogue Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump. That's a big red flag to Congress that, so as not to perjure himself, Barr declined to respond rather than say he hadn't discussed the report.
Indeed, Trump's erratic lashing out at Special Counsel Robert Mueller over the past couple of days indicate that Barr inappropriately shared information with him that clearly has him raging. It could be details regarding the Special Counsel's position that their investigation could not exonerate him. It could be other information that Barr's refusing to share with elected officials with a Constitutional duty to know. Speaking on MSNBC this morning, former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman believes this is part of a coverup abetted by Barr:
“The reason that you see the White House changing course here is because Barr has told them what’s in that report,” Akerman continued. “Somebody there has relayed to Trump what it is.”Barr also suggested to the Senate Appropriations Committee today that the FBI "spied" on Trump before the election, which appears to be an attempt to undermine the foundation for the investigation itself. It should be emphasized again and again that the intelligence community had ample reason to follow the breadcrumbs that connected members of the Trump campaign team and Russian nationals (and subsequent indictments and guilty pleas bear that out). And a counterintelligence investigation isn't "spying": it's stopping those that are spying or committing crimes against us. Even a Trump stooge should know that.
“This is all part of one big cover up and what we’re going to see is a redacted report with all kinds of colors that is going to look like the New York subway system map.”
