Untruth In Advertising

The Rethuglican / New Confederate / Cages-For-Kids Party knows it has a challenge in holding on to the Senate in 2020. The Americas PAC is sponsoring aggressively pro-Trump dishonest ads against Dems in Alabama, New Hampshire and other states. In contrast, in two states where their incumbent faces a real chance of defeat and needs some distance from Trump -- Sen. Collins in Maine and Sen. Gardner in Colorado -- they've taken to subterfuge to hide their incumbent's connection with the national, Trumpian Rethuglican Party:
"As Americas PAC goes on offense, two new super PACs show signs of an effort by big-money Republican groups to play defense in two states where GOP holds will be crucial to the party’s effort to maintain a Senate majority.

Both of those groups, Our Colorado PAC and The Maine Way PAC, are made to sound local. Both of their mailing addresses are rented mailboxes in their respective states. But both also show signs of involvement by national Republican groups with deeper pockets and a track record of setting up state-specific political outfits.

Colorado and Maine are key Senate battleground states this cycle, where Gardner and Sen. Susan Collins are expected to face tough reelection fights. And Our Colorado and The Maine Way happen to share the same treasurer, Benjamin Ottenhoff, the former chief financial officer of the Republican National Committee."
(our emphasis)
Just as their endangered candidates lied about supporting health insurance coverage for pre-existing conditions during the 2018 mid-terms, you can be certain that in those two blue states the lies will be off the charts in supporting Collins and Gardner to try to fool as many voters as possible into thinking they're "moderate" checks on Trump. Collins votes 72% of the time with Trump, Gardner votes 90% with him. Remember that.

I am deeply worried about our (Democrat) chances in 2020. The economy doesn't appear to be headed for a recession, despite the best efforts of trump to destroy the supply chain framework.

While a lot of people despise trump and his illegal behaviors, I fear a "good" economy might pacify enough voters to give him another term. I tend to believe the old saying, "No one ever went wrong underestimating the intelligence of the average American voter."

I;m also worried about Democrats tendency to self-destruct in the name of ideological purity.

Beach Bum -- 2020 won't be easy for us. He'll have the tools of the Presidency at his disposal, and he'll use and abuse them. We're hoping that the mid-terms are an indicator for 2020. Turnout and unity.
