Weekend 5 By 4 Music
Fifty- five years ago this week, The Beatles had the top 5 songs on the Billboard charts, a record that has never been equaled. In honor of that extraordinary achievement, we're offering those songs today (for as long as they stay up) in the order they were rated that week:
1. Can't Buy Me Love
2. Twist and Shout
3. She Loves You
4. I Want To Hold Your Hand (live)
5. Please Please Me

55 YEARS!!!! That would make me, um, 59! HA HA HA!! WOW. I'll never forget their first appearance, here in the states. On the Ed Sullivan Show. They performed their # 1 Hit (here in the States) "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". I think that's the clip you played. The girls in the audience went absolutely CRAZY!! I don't know how many fainted.
ReplyDeleteIn 1964, I went to see them at The Hollywood Bowl. I had nosebleed seats, but, didn't matter. The girls behind me went CRAZY!! See a pattern here??
Now, we are down to 2 left. DAMMINT!
Thank you so much for doing this tribute !!!
Love ya!!!!!
FM -- glad you enjoyed it as much as we did posting it! They were a once-in-a-lifetime treasure. RIP John and George.
