Tuesday's Nuremberg rally for demagogue and sociopath Donald "Not Exonerated" Trump had been hyped by his campaign as a blockbuster, with 120,000 people requesting to attend. It turns out that they didn't fill the Amway Center at all. According to the Orlando Sentinal, out of a capacity of 20,000, some 19,000 people showed up:
"Anyone could have requested two tickets at the Trump campaign’s website before the event, with a text verification required. Seating in the arena was mostly first-come, first-serve.
While most of the sections were filled to capacity, several sections in the upper tier of the arena had empty seats as the time approached for Trump to start his speech." (our emphasis)Trump's campaign had also set up large screens outside the venue for his red cap mob to enjoy his rant, but:
"About an hour before Trump began to speak at 8:14 p.m., the long lines snaking around the Amway Center were gone and people could easily walk into the event. Only a few dozen people watched on screens outside at the campaign’s '45 Fest.'" (our emphasis)We've also heard that entry into the arena was slowed by the campaign in order to make the lines seem longer than they should have been. Fake campaign!
BONUS: Last night, Stephen Colbert had a lengthy dissection of Trump's relaunch of "the campaign he has never stopped."
