9-11 Responders Stiffed By Rand Paul

In yet another sign of the deep sociopathy and casual cruelty of the Republican Party, crackpot and so-called libertarian Sen. Rand "Ayn" Paul (KY) blocked a vote yesterday to fund the long-term healthcare needs of sick first responders and compensation for their survivors. After voting in 2017 for the trillion dollar plus tax cut for the top one percent and mult-national corporations, which blew a gigantic hole in the deficit, Paul has now found religion in fiscal responsibility. His state, which benefits not only from his hypocrisy but that of swamp king and recipient of Russian oligarch funds Sen. Mitch "Missy" McConnell, is the third most dependent on the Federal government. Talk about welfare.

The incomparable Jon Stewart, who has been a long-tme champion of the 9-11 first responders, had this to say about the cynical and clownish twit Paul and his Rethug colleagues:
"Rand Paul presented tissue paper avoidance of the $1.5 trillion tax cut that added hundreds of billions of dollars to our deficit, and now he stands up at the last minute after 15 years of blood, sweat and tears from the 9/11 community to say that it's all over now, now we're going to balance the budget on the backs of the 9/11 first responder community. There are some things that they have no trouble putting on the credit card. But somehow when it comes to the 9/11 first responder community -- the cops, the firefighters, the construction workers, the volunteers, the survivors -- all of a sudden, man we've got to go through this."
We don't have to go through this if we elect more Dems in 2020 and beyond.
