Many tens of thousands of Puerto Ricans took to the streets and highways in an around San Juan to demand the resignation of disgraced Gov. Ricardo Rosselló. Leaks of nearly 900 pages of messages from him to his advisors showed homophobic and misogynist insults, the mocking of the victims of Hurricane Maria, among other slurs. His government is also under investigation for rampant corruption. Today was the tenth consecutive day of protests, some of which have involved skirmished with police in Old San Juan.
As today's headline in the commonwealth's leading paper El Nuevo Dia said, "“Governor, it’s time to listen to the people: You have to resign.”
