Russian asset and sociopath Donald "Individual-1" Trump has never been strong on national security, starting with his disparagement of U.S. and ally intelligence over Russia's role in getting him elected through the antiquated Electoral College. We have no idea what he discusses with Russian thug and autocrat Vladimir Putin in their long solo meetings, but it's guaranteed it's not about strengthening our national security. He'll never be able to transcend his malignant narcissism and think beyond his own personal well-being.
The latest assault on national security during his Asian / G-20 capitulation tour was his announcement that Chinese telecom giant Huawei, which had been blacklisted by the U.S. just six weeks ago for, among other things, intellectual property theft and undermining our security, would now be allowed to buy equipment from the U.S. to integrate into its export products. A serious concern is that, given Huawei's close association with the Chinese government, its equipment could be used for espionage purposes internationally. Huawei's networking equipment was blacklisted by the U.S. in 2012 for that reason.
Of course, our cyber capitalists (Google, Intel, Micron, etc.) are applauding the move with Huawei, since the loss of that customer has affected their bottom lines, and, frankly, our national security isn't a big concern of theirs, as long as they can sell
UPDATE: Now there are reports that Putin's puppet is also backsliding on U.S. policy on denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula in order to break the stalemate and be able to claim a "victory." Needless to say, this would have serious, long- reaching effects on regional stability and on both friend and foe being able to count on a consistent American foreign policy. Flattery combined with obstinance will get you far with the narcissistic American dolt.
