Registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy hedge fund financier and friend of sexual predator and sociopath Donald "Grab 'Em" Trump, was arrested in New York last night and charged with sex trafficking of minors, according to the Daily Beast, which broke the story. Epstein was arrested by a joint FBI-NYPD team investigating sex trafficking. He's long been the subject of accusations and lawsuits alleging that he was involved in soliciting minors to have sex with himself and other wealthy friends, including Trump.
Epstein will appear in court on Monday to be arraigned on the charges. From the Daily Beast's account:
"The new indictment—which, according to two sources, will be unsealed Monday in Manhattan federal court—will reportedly allege that Epstein sexually exploited dozens of underage girls in a now-familiar scheme: paying them cash for "massages" and then molesting or sexually abusing them in his Upper East Side mansion or his palatial residence in Palm Beach. Epstein will be charged with one count of sex trafficking of minors and one count of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of minors—which could put him away for a maximum of 45 years."The article points out that the case is being handled by the Public Corruption Unit of the Southern District of New York, a rather unusual situation for a sex trafficking case and one that could mean public sector individuals could be referenced in the indictment. Trump's friendship with Epstein goes back many years, according to Trump. He and Epstein were accused of raping a 13 year-old minor, who later dropped the charges in 2016 after receiving death threats (Michael Cohen's handiwork?).
Trump will likely lie about his connection with Epstein ("I don't know the guy," etc.) to his cult. Trump's biographer, Tim O'Brien would beg to differ:
