With a steady stream of donations from Wall Street plutocrats, Washington swamp king Sen. Mitch "Wall Street's Bitch" McConnell is reaping some of the corporate tax cut seeds that he sowed with the 2017 tax cut for billionaires bill. According to the Louisville Courier Journal, the corrupt McConnell raked in more than $3 million from firms on Wall Street eager to say "thanks" and to ensure the amoral McConnell would stay on their side:
"The biggest blocks of contributions during the period came from two global financial services firms based in New York: 29 people with Blackstone Group made contributions totaling $95,400; and 14 executives of KKR & Co. are listed as giving a combined $51,000.Not surprisingly, McConnell was recently named as the most hated Senator. His reputation as a master obstructor is legendary; the blocking of Judge Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court and his current obstruction of nearly all legislation from the House of Representatives has cemented his despicable legacy.
The report, filed late Monday with the Federal Election Commission, illustrates McConnell's continuing ability to draw big contributions from business interests across the country.
Only about 9% of the itemized contributions listed in his recent report come from Kentucky donors, according to an analysis by the Washington-based Center for Responsive Politics." (our emphasis)
A couple of weeks ago, retired Marine Corps pilot Amy McGrath announced her candidacy for Senate, running against McConnell. Here's how to help her defeat this swamp monster.
