Warmbiers Seek North Korean Ship As Asset
The parents of Otto Warmbier have filed a claim against a seized North Korean ship to satisfy a $500 million wrongful death verdict against North Korea for the death of their son. The ship was seized in May for violating international sanctions by transporting coal to other ports. Warmbier was a student from the University of Virginia who was imprisoned in North Korea for a year, where he suffered harsh conditions and brutal treatment. He died from brain damage soon after his return to the U.S. as a result of his imprisonment.
Demagogue and friend to despots Donald "Rump" Trump has established a cozy relationship with North Korean tyrant Kim Jong Un, and had declined to hold Kim and his regime responsible for Warmbier's death. Perhaps another flattering letter to Trump from Kim will encourage Trump to release the ship before the Warmbiers get justice.
