Weekend Summer Heat Wave Twofer

A belated happy birthday to Martha Reeves of Martha and the Vandellas, who turned 78 yesterday. "[Love Is Like A] Heat Wave" (which is what two- thirds of the country is experiencing over the weekend), released in 1963, was their first million- selling single, and is credited with introducing the classic Motown backbeat and uptempo rhythm sound.  The Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" was released 53 years ago this month is also an appropriate song for the moment.  Hope you enjoy (and stay cool).
