Weekend UK Music Twofer

Silver Spring Bureau Chief Brian reminded us of the New Wave band The English Beat from Birmingham, and their 1982 hit "Save It For Later."  The song has appeared in a number of movies and is said to be a favorite of The Who's Pete Townshend, who covered the song along with Counting Crows and Pearl Jam.  Pretty good references.  They're currently touring in California, by the way. Our second song is a brand new release from Glasgow's Belle and Sebastian, "Sister Buddha," which appears on the "Days of the Bagnold Summer" movie soundtrack (the movie is scheduled to open in September this year). Hope you enjoy our double dose of UK music, from then and now.

"Save It for Later" certainly brings back some memories! It's also a good example of the British love of wordplay. The song is actually about oral sex, if you listen carefully.

Infidel -- right, starting with the title, which was a play on "save it, fellator."
