Let's Have A Fair Fight In 2020

With Rethuglicans expected to go all out in their voter suppression activities in 2020 because their policies (and Presidential candidate) are deeply unpopular, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has launched a campaign -- Fair Fight -- to combat Rethuglican voter suppression tactics in key battleground states. Here's part of their mission statement:
"Fair Fight advocates for election reform, engages in voter education, and encourages turnout in order to secure the voting rights of all Georgians. The 501(c)(4) arm of the organization, Fair Fight Action, engages in activities such as conducting a vote-by-mail program; educating voters about elections, voting procedures, and voting rights; and facilitating a get-out-the-vote program to mobilize voters to cast their ballots during early voting and on election day."
Abrams was cheated out of the Georgia Governor's job by a corrupt, Rethug-controlled voting process, headed by her opponent, Brian Kemp, who was Georgia's Secretary of State and therefore responsible for a fair and honest process.

You can donate to Fair Fight here. Regardless of which Dem is the nominee, he or she will face continued sabotage from not only Russian hackers and bots, but from the Rethuglicans who have gamed the elections system to suppress Democratic constituencies. That's why this transcends a particular candidate and goes to the heart of the concept of one person, one vote, which the Rethugs are desperate to undermine.

As an editorial aside, shared by the Washington Post's Paul Waldman, wealthy vanity candidates with ample money and egos like Tom Steyer and John Delaney -- neither of whom will be nominated, much less elected -- should be putting their millions into efforts like Fair Fight if they really believe this coming election is a fight for our democracy.
